  • 4wheel low noise

got a tech question... When out playing on some hills I decided to run my 86 cj7 4.2 mostly stock with 31'S through the 4 wheel drives to keep them moving. 4 wheel high seemed to work great but 4wl made a loud clunking noise at what seemed every rotation. this is still while on flat ground. also hard to shift between 4/2/4 on transfer case. Any suggestions

Turned out to be wear in the front slip yolk. Slapped around while under torque

It should be hard to shift inbetween the gears anyhow with the drivetrain slack and all... I just go forward and back with the hubs unlocked and its fine...

Noise came back. Definitely coming from driver side hub. Going to change it out and hope I didn't brake an axle.
